To prepare you and anyone else interested in the new Altima, we thought that now would be the perfect time to go over a comparison of the 2016 Nissan Altima vs 2015 Nissan Altima before it goes on sale next week. The main differences illustrated in the chart above are a small price change, the addition of new SR trim levels, and a slight increase in fuel economy for the 2016 Altima. The Altima SR is a more value-laden and sport-oriented trim that is available with either the 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine or 3.5-liter, V6 engine. Other changes from last year’s model include the highly anticipated redesign that follows along the same lines as the Maxima redesign we saw this year. Apart from looks, the redesign also includes retuned steering and suspension along with an updated Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission.
As far as features, the 2016 Altima has some impressive updates over the 2015 model. The lineup of available driver assistance features has been revamped and now includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, radar-based Blind Sport Warning, Forward Emergency Braking, Intelligent Cruise Control, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Other new available features include the Zero Gravity seats, 5-inch and 7-inch displays, and Siri Eyes Free. The goal of the overall redesign and updated features is to make the Altima a premium mid-sized sedan with more value than ever before.
