By Product Expert | Posted in Nissan Leaf on Friday, April 22nd, 2016 at 4:50 pmIn honor of Earth Day we had to allow the Nissan Leaf to steal the spotlight, we actually should say limelight since its mission is all about going green after all. The Nissan Leaf is helping to pave the way for electric vehicles and has been doing so since it was first introduced around six years ago.
Since its debut, it has only continued to improve as one of the most affordable and tech-savvy fully electric vehicles available. The 2016 Nissan Leaf mile range and trim levels have helped it to earn the reputation as “The world’s first affordably priced electric car to offer more than 100 miles of range” according to a press release that went out by Nissan today.
How far can the Nissan Leaf travel on a single charge?
Breaking the 100 mile barrier while remaining an affordable vehicle was a tricky obstacle that the Nissan Leaf has now hurdled. Compared to the previous 24 kWh battery, the newly available 30 kWh battery enables the Leaf to travel up to 107 miles.
Nissan has been a leading developer of lithium-ion battery technology for more than 20 years.
One of the biggest concerns with increasing battery capacity is that the durability will decrease as well as its its compatibility with quick chargers. This is not the case for the Nissan Leaf.
Nissan Leaf Performance and Efficiency
How the transfer of energy works in the Nissan Leaf is that its battery charges an 80 kW AC synchronous motor which is capable of producing 107-horsepower paired with 187 lb.ft. of torque
How much does a Nissan Leaf cost?
