They say patience is a virtue, but when it comes to offering all the latest features for consumers, Nissan seems to lack quality. We say this because of the automaker’s penchant for offering mid-year upgrades in the form of 2017.5 model years. Take a look and you’ll find the new 2017.5 Nissan Rogue isn’t the only model in the lineup to have a half-way option between last year and the upcoming 2018. The 2017.5 Nissan Murano, another SUV in the lineup, also received upgrades. So what’s the difference between the 2017.5 Nissan Rogue and the 2017 Nissan Rogue? They may look the same, but you’ll want to take a peek at the features.
2017.5 Nissan Rogue S adds standard driver assistance features
The new model year for most automakers begins in late summer to early fall. Naturally we see some early releases in spring, or late ones in winter, but the vast majority of new inventory will come out at the same time. Especially if there aren’t any major changes happening across the lineup. The 2017 Nissan Rogue was offered up at the normal time, but some key features weren’t ready. Rather than waiting until the 2018 model year, Nissan decided to make adjustments and create the 2017.5 Nissan Rogue.

So how is it different from the 2017 Nissan Rogue? One of the most important factors are its new driver assistance features, which include standard Forward Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, all of which work together to help prevent collisions and mitigate damage when accidents are unavoidable. Nissan doesn’t think necessary safety features should be put off even for just a few months. Don’t you agree?
Other changes include the addition of the Midnight Edition trim, which has black aluminum-alloy wheels and black roof rails and exterior mirror caps. Plus, SV and SL Nissan Rogue Hybrid trims were added with late and limited availability.
We don’t expect Nissan to release any more 2017.5 models before the 2018 model year, but if the automaker does, we’ll be sure to let you know here at the Glendale Nissan Blog.
