Every year can’t be a redesign year for vehicles; change has to come with time but that doesn’t mean that automakers don’t have some excitement up their sleeves. The 2017 Nissan model plans and changes involve some feature and trim updates.
The primary models that were the target for change in the 2017 Nissan lineup are the: GT-R Premium, GT-R NISMO, Armada, and Pathfinder. We’ll briefly cover the highlights and changes of these models considering this is where the greatest amount of change is significant.
2017 Nissan GT-R Redesign Highlights
The crown jewel of the Nissan lineup–the supercar GT-R–has undergone its most significant changes this year since it first debuted in 2009.
Exterior: Key exterior changes that are clearly noticeable include the company’s signature V-motion grille that is spreading across the lineup one model refresh/redesign at a time.
Exterior: To fit the new grille design, it also has been fitted with a more pronounced hood and reinforced body structure to maintain stability at high speeds.
Interior: Cleaner and simplified dashboard layout by eliminating unnecessary switches and controls.
Interior: 8-inch touch-panel monitor and paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
Design: More rigid body structure, retuned suspension, and 20-inch 15-spoke forged aluminum wheels, to improve stability and quicker cornering. (Especially at high speeds.)
2017 Nissan Armada Redesign Highlights
The Nissan lineup is home to a variety of crossovers and SUVs all ranging in size and capability. The largest and most powerful choice remains the Armada which is being entirely redesigned from the ground up to more closely model the overseas Patrol.
Exterior: One of the few that still houses a body-on-frame build, the Armada continues forward with its rugged and aggressive build. It still is able to seat up to 8 passengers.
Exterior: The Armada joins a number of Nissan models as it boldly takes up the V-motion front grille and adds standard LED low beam headlights.

Interior: Best-in-class headroom and legroom for front and backseat passengers.
Interior: Better acoustics than ever before, reducing road and engine noise through the sound-absorbing materials used on the windshield and front side windows.
Performance: The new Endurance 5.6L V8 engine increases horsepower to 390 while the new advanced 7-speed automatic transmission makes for smoother, more intelligent shifting. Towing tops out at a maximum of 8,500 lbs.
2017 Nissan Pathfinder Redesign Highlights
A main staple within the Nissan lineup, the Pathfinder has been apart of the family for nearly 60 years. For 2017 it undergoes significant change as it enters a new generation.
Exterior: The Pathfinder joins its other updated members and is fitted with the V motion grille while its sheet metal has been revised to give its body a more athletic look.
Exterior: The signature LED boomerang headlights and daytime running lights give the Pathfinder a more aggressive, yet sophisticated expression.
Interior: An 8.0-inch color touch-screen monitor now comes standard on all models while NissanConnect Services and Navigation are available.
Interior: All new safety systems are available which include: the signature Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Forward Emergency Braking.
Performance: Beneath its hood isn’t a brand new engine but its 3.5L V6 has been re-engineered and is composed of more than 56% new parts and pieces to optimize efficiency and power.
