What are your thoughts on the compact sedan market? They’re certainly affordable vehicles, and most do a good job at delivering a reasonable fuel economy rating. This is one of their primary goals afterall, to serve as an economy car.
One of the greatest drawbacks to a small sedan often times is that passenger space and cargo room becomes cramped while performance is dull and sluggish. The Nissan Sentra has answers to all of these. The current generation is sleek and modern while its interior space contends with midsize sedans. It also is an excellent candidate for commuting, earning 27 city/ 36 hwy mpg. But if you’re looking to turn up the excitement a couple of notches, look for the 2017 Nissan Sentra release date.
The rumor mill has really picked up with reports that a NISMO-version of the Sentra is in fact being pushed through to production. Car and Driver has reported spy shots which can be viewed here.
An actual date has not yet been given for the 2017 Nissan Sentra, but Nissan did say that it would be soon. With summer quickly approaching, it wouldn’t be unlikely to expect it in time for summer or early fall at the latest. Once we have a more concrete time frame we will be sure to get back with an update!
Now this is not a next-generation GT-R supercar, but let’s be honest, that’s on your wish list but probably not within your budget. For the practical and economic driver looking to conserve money, you might want to direct your attention to the up-and-coming Sentra NISMO.
2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo Performance
The 2017 Nissan Sentra NISMO will be borrowing from the Juke Nismo and NISMO RS models. This is a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, but according to the concept that was introduced a while back, it looks like it might actually gain a couple of liters and be a 1.8L 4-cylinder. Horsepower for the Juke is rated between 188 and 215 which could mean the Sentra NISMO could actually come closer to 240 HP.
