It’s been too long since we’ve last talked about an auto show in great detail, and that’s because summer is a busy season for most automakers. It’s the easiest time for shoppers to go out and take test drives, as the warm weather and clear roads provide ideal conditions to take your time and make a wise decision. When things cool down, brands like Nissan could put more focus on cool concepts and exciting brand opportunities. One such opportunity? The continued partnership with the Star Wars franchise. The newest film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is coming to theaters this month, and Nissan brought a variety of Star Wars-themed models to the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show to boost hype.

Nissan has been creating unique themed vehicles since its partnership started with the Star Wars: Rogue One movie. Designers for the automaker take the opportunity to create custom parts and graphics that mimic some of the most famous ships from the franchise. Though we won’t pretend any automobile is quite as thrilling as what you’ll see in the popular sci-fi films, in the real world, cars and SUVs are among the top purchases that bring a real sense of excitement.

Nissan brought some of its most popular vehicles to the LA Auto Show, including the Nissan Rogue, Rogue Sport, Altima, Maxima and Titan. Though graphics and modifications are conceptual only, and not available for sale. Still, it shows with a bit of imagination and custom parts, even the most practical model can turn heads. Naturally, fake missile cannons aren’t likely to be an enhancement many opt for (and probably aren’t street legal), but we have to admit they look cool.
