Doesn’t it feel like we just kicked the summer off? Only a short time ago we were telling you what’s good for Memorial Day, and now September is almost here. Still, it’s no reason to moan, as there are plenty of great 2017 Labor Day events in the Glendale Heights IL area. Take advantage of your three-day weekend before buckling down for fall.
Labor Day Weekend Events in Northern Illinois
Though Glendale Heights is a relatively small city, we’re lucky to live just a short drive from Chicago. This means there is plenty to do when a holiday comes around, but we can say away from the chaos of city life during our everyday adventures.

Concerts at Millennium Park are an iconic way to spend summer in the Chicago area, but they start to peter out in September. The Chicago Jazz Festival takes place every year around Labor Day Weekend and attendees enjoy free admission to learn more about all forms of jazz music and heritage. This year the event takes place daily from Aug. 31 through Sept. 3.
Taking place on Sept. 1-3, you’ll enjoy music from the likes of Deadmau5, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Primus and more. Tickets for this event, which is hosted at Union Park, are on sale now for as little as $59 for a one-day general pass, all the way up to $199 for a 3-day VIP package.
Naperville Last Fling and Labor Day Parade
In recognition of the last major holiday before the warm weather dies down, Naperville holds this annual festival. Running from Sept 1 to Sept 4, the event will include carnival rides and games, live music and plenty of festival food. The Labor Day Parade will also be held on Sept. 4 at 10 a.m.
