When do you go trick-or-treating in Chicago?
This year Halloween, October 31, falls on a Tuesday. This isn’t exactly the most ideal day of the week, as plenty of us turn in early on weeknights, whether it’s for work or for school. Still, those in Chicago, IL and its surrounding suburbs will be observing the holiday on that Tuesday. We have good news for you, though, as most cities observe an earlier schedule. So if you’re worried about sneaking ghouls roaming the streets, they have an early bed time.

2017 Halloween Safety Tips
Halloween is meant to be a fun time, but it only remains that way if you follow key safety tips. With many trick-or-treat times starting in the afternoon, it’s best to go out when there’s still daylight and you are easily observable. Wear glow sticks or carry a flashlight to make yourself more visible at dusk and night, and always cross at designated crosswalks. Though drivers should expect to see you, it’s safest to assume the won’t.
Never eat candy that appears to be tampered with, and throw out homemade food. Always remember to travel in groups, and with at least one responsible adult.
