More and more people are using the internet for research and to stay in touch. With more demand for digital, it made sense for Nissan to pivot their logo to match the modern age. The new logo comes alive in this new chapter in the Nissan legacy.
The process behind the design
When creating the new design in 2017, the team wanted to keep Nissan front and center to evoke past milestones and memories yet show the evolution of the company. The directive words “be passionate, be an innovator, be a challenger” were always in the heads of the designers while they sketched out the different design ideas. Some variable considered was how the logo would look illuminated on Nissan vehicles yet still make a strong impression on paper.
An impactful presence
The logo was officially introduced in July 2020. Nissan’s electric vehicles will feature an exclusive logo lit by 20 LED lights to highlight the number of years between logo redesigns. Nissan enthusiasts and shoppers will find the new logo incorporated over all mediums from social media and digital advertising to letterheads and dealership signs.
