Happy Halloween, Chicagoland! It’s that time again where we look to experience scares and frights in celebration of one of our favorite holidays. Living in the Chicago suburbs is truly a treat during Halloween because we are close to a number of haunted attractions that are sure to scare us silly. If you are looking for haunted houses near Glendale Heights IL, you have come to the right place. We have narrowed down the list of the many haunted houses in the area to 10 locations. Each haunted house has plenty of scares, so only the bravest souls should dare to visit. Check out the top area haunted houses below.
- Lombard Jaycees Haunted House – Westmont, IL – October 9 through 31: The Lombard Jaycees haunted house in an annual event that has been running since 1970. As always, this not-for-profit haunted house will deliver some serious scares with the theme “The Terror Within”.
- House of Torment Haunted Houses – Morton Grove, IL – September 25 through November 7: The House of Torment haunted houses have become famous across the country and the haunted house here in the Chicago area is sure to bring some serious thrills with its two attractions.
- Midnight Terror Haunted House – Oak Lawn, IL – October 1 through November 1: With realistic scares and special effects the Midnight Terror haunted house is a great destination for looking for real frights. Like the House of Torment, this one has two attractions.
- Disturbia: Screams in the Park – Rosemont, IL – October 2 through November 1: Another haunted attraction with twice the frights, Disturbia offers some truly horrifying scares. Between the Insane Asylum and Cavern of Darkness, you are sure to find the thrills you seek.
- The 13th Floor Haunted House – Melrose Park, IL – September 25 through November 14: The 13th Floor is tagged as being “Chicago’s Premier Halloween Event” and this attraction goes all out to prove it. Like many of the haunted houses on our list, The 13th Floor offers two houses.
- Statesville Haunted Prison – Melrose Park, IL – October 1 through November 1: The Statesville Haunted Prison has been scaring those around Chicago for 19 years. Not only does this attraction have a nearly hour long haunted house, but it also has a zombie sniper paintball ride.
- The Massacre Haunted House – Montgomery, IL – September 26 through November 13: The Massacre haunted house has serious scares and is not for the faint of heart. This attraction features two terrifying houses full of monsters and thrills through a maze of over 60 rooms.
- All Hallows Eve: Village of Fear – Naperville, IL – October 16 and 17: All Hallows Eve is an annual attraction in Naperville over a weekend in October. Historic buildings in the area are turned into terrifying haunted houses spread out over 12 acres for frights and fun.
- The Legendary Dungeon of Doom – Zion IL – September 26 through November 7: The Dungeon of Doom has been around since 1997, offering incredibly realistic scares throughout a variety of attractions. If you want life-like scares, you’ll want to encounter this haunted house.
- Undead Acres – Monee, IL – October 2 through November 1: This attraction is more than just a haunted house, it’s a zombie killing adventure too. Between the zombie paintball adventure and the Terror Trail there is plenty of Halloween fun to be had at Undead Acres.
