For starters, as of 2025, the Rogue is Nissan’s go-to compact SUV, while the Rogue Select was phased out after the 2015 model year. Materials

The 2025 Rogue features soft-touch plastics and leather-appointed seating in higher trims like the SL and Platinum, whereas the Rogue Select used more utilitarian materials, namely hard plastics and basic cloth upholstery throughout its interior. 

Powertrain

Powertrain performance sees a significant upgrade, with the 2025 model featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine paired with an updated CVT. 

In comparison, the Rogue Select had a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that put out 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, with an older CVT. This setup resulted in a less responsive drive and slightly lower fuel efficiency.

Technology

Compared to the Rogue Select, the 2025 Nissan Rogue is packed with modern tech upgrades:

• Infotainment: The 2025 Rogue has a much larger 8-inch touchscreen on the base model, with higher trims offering a 12.3-inch touchscreen. It also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Conversely, the Rogue Select had a much smaller 5-inch display and didn’t offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Driver Assistance: The 2025 model is equipped with Safety Shield 360, which includes useful features like automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Rogue Select, however, only offered basic features like an optional rearview camera.
