Just because you don’t have a classic car doesn’t mean you can’t marvel over others’. From custom cars to the oldies you remember from yesteryear, there are number of car shows and swap meets in northeastern, IL.
Even though summer is our favorite time to cruise around town with the windows down, it’s quickly fleeting but there still are quite a few swap meets and shows taking place this coming fall. Take a look at the list we’ve compiled below.
Supercar Saturdays: The Promenade
When: September 3rd
Where: Boiling Brook
Catch all of the cars that reign as kings out in California. This is a place where car enthusiasts can get together, share stories, and appreciate everything from restored classics to modern day exotic luxuries with beastly engines, suicide doors, and spoilers so wide it looks as if the car could take flight.
“Cars For A Cause”
When: September 10th
Where: Downers Grove
Rain or shine, this charity car and motorcycle show will be taking place in the Cozzi Corner parking lot. It’s only $15 per vehicle and there will be a number of awards, door prizes, and a 50/50 raffle. The show is being put on by Downers Grove Kiwanis, “Serving the Children of the World.”
Hooters Cup Series XVI
Car & Bike Show
When: September 11th
Where: Schaumburg
A full collection of hotrods, customs, vintage, and classics will be in attendance at the Hooters Cup Series. Whether you’re looking forward to bringing your ride to show off or a chair to sit back and relax in as the “Top 60” cars and trucks are awarded, either will be a fine time. Plus there are the “Best of Categories” that are divided up by brand: Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, Mopar, Chevy, GM, Paint, Engine, Best in Show, etc. (Dash plaques go to the first registered participants.)
Joliet Regional Airport Festival
When: September 25th
Where: Joliet
First things first….admission is FREE! The show will take place from 8:00AM-3:00PM. The actual Classic Car Show is hosted by the Coachmen Car Club and is $10 per car. It’s more than okay to bring the kiddos, there will be face painting, a magician, and a bounce house. Even though there will be food vendors present, there also will be a scrumptious pancake breakfast from 8-11am. ($7 per adult and $5 for kids 12 and under.) Plane rides are also optional and cost $30 per person.
