How do I change the camera angle on the Nissan Around View Monitor?
By Product Expert | Posted in Features & Technology, Tips & Tricks on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 at 8:45 pmFor those of you who do not have eyes in the back of your head or plan on sticking your head out of the sunroof to get a bird’s eye view of your vehicle, the Nissan Around View Monitor provides drivers with a virtual 360-degree view of the vehicle.
Some parking situations, especially on cramped city streets, or reversing in a busy subdivision or parking lot can be stressful at times. It’s difficult to be fully aware of your surrounding when some things are physically impossible for you to see, but with a bird’s-eye view, there is a better visual and peace of mind.
If you’re wondering how to change the camera angle on the Nissan Around View Monitor, take a look at the diagrams below to better understand the views when reversing or parking.
Once your vehicle has been started, the Around View Monitor can be activated when you press the camera button located on next to the touch screen centered on your dash below the radio controls.

No matter what is displayed on touch screen, by pressing the camera button, the front view and bird’s eye view will appear and if you press the camera button a second time, the front view and front-side view will be displayed. Press the camera button a third time and you will return to the screen you originally were on.
For those of you who are visual learners, the diagram below reiterates what is explained in the above paragraph.
You’ll also notice that the Around View Monitor will automatically turn on when the vehicle’s shifter is moved to R (Reverse.) The first camera angle that will display is the rear view and bird’s-eye view. Press the camera button and the angle will change to the rear view and front-side view. Pressing the button for a second time will take you back to the first view. Once again, a diagram is available below.
Also, you may have noticed colored guide lines that appear on the screen which is there to help you decipher how far away certain objects are from your vehicle:
- Red=1.5ft
- Yellow=3ft
- Green=7ft and 10ft
