For many drivers, it feels like electric cars are a fairly new development, and still not quite as practical as gasoline models. We expect range to increase in 2018, and charging times continue to improve, but when it comes time for a road trip, the models aren’t quite as competitive. What you may be surprised to learn is that the 2018 Nissan Leaf is 70 years in the making, as that’s how long it has been since Nissan first developed an EV. The Tama EV was developed in 1947, even though it wasn’t until late 2010 that the Leaf finally came out as the first mass-produced option.
