“Helping to build a new home for a family right here in our backyard is a proud moment for the Nissan Canton team. It underpins our commitment to helping build stronger communities and a stronger Mississippi for everyone.”
–Erik Fields, vice president, Manufacturing, Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant
The new home was built for Christina Wilder and her two sons, Carmello and Chrishone. Wilder actually took Chrishone in after the unfortunate passing of one of her brothers a few years ago.
The partnership between Nissan North America and Habitat for Humanity has been around since 2005. Since then, Nissan has donated more than $16.9 million and 150 vehicles to the cause, as Nissan employees have also logged more than 100,000 volunteer hours in total.
