Nissan reveals a new 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition at NYIAS
By Product Expert | Posted in News, Nissan GT-R on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 at 7:17 pmHow much does the 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition cost?
Now, we know what you’ve been thinking. “Gee, I really would like a 2017 Nissan GT-R, but the Premium trim doesn’t have all the track features I want, and the Nismo is far too expensive.” OK, so maybe most people don’t have the luxury of debating between the two trim levels, but it stands to reason that those who can afford the model, or are at least dreaming about it, would still note the price gap as the Premium trim starts off at $109,990 and the Nismo jumps to $174,990. Even if you have the money, that’s a big difference. Now it sounds like Nissan will be adding the 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition to the lineup, but how much does it cost?
Pricing and Features for the 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition
It’s hard to say that any sports car adds value to the lineup, as they aren’t exactly economy priced, and you aren’t going to be disappointed if you get behind the wheel of the GT-R Premium and “only” achieve 565 horsepower. But, say, you really are going to be taking your Nissan GT-R to the tracks, but you can’t quite take the plunge on the Nismo. The upcoming GT-R Track Edition will be available by special order only with a starting MSRP of $127,990, which you’ll note places it between the two current trims in terms of pricing.
Nismo on a budget: 2017 Nissan Sentra Nismo
The GT-R Track Edition will continue to offer the 565hp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6, as opposed to the Nismo-tuned 3.8-liter that offers up an even 600 horsepower. So what does the new trim add?
- Dry carbon-fiber spoiler
- Additional adhesive bonding for body shell rigidity
- Nismo-tuned 4-wheel independent suspension
- Nismo-spec tires and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels
- Nismo front fenders
- Red and black color theme
- High-grip Recaro seats
- Enhanced engine cooling V-Motion grille
- Reinforced hood
- 11-switch layout with 8-inch capacitive screen
- Steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters
As you can see, the model adds on some Nismo features, but not all of the ones you’d find in the Nismo trim. It’s truly a sort of mix of both models, as the style is enhanced, but most of the features focus on better tuning and improved body strength to handle high speeds.
