Fall is easily our favorite time of year. The weather cools off to a nice, bearable temperature. The leaves change colors. We can go out on hayrides or pick pumpkins with our families, and later trick-or-treating. But at work, it’s all about the new model year. One of our most popular models, the Nissan Altima, is finally coming out for 2018, and we have official U.S. pricing details for all trim levels, as well as information on new features and updates.
How much does the 2018 Nissan Altima cost?
Naturally, when we talk pricing we mean the MSRP. There are always plenty of incentives and sales, or special lease pricing, that might sweeten the deal. Then again, additional packages or exclusive color options can sometimes raise the price. But here’s what you can expect as a starting off point.
As you can see, the starting MSRP for the base trim level 2018 Nissan Altima 2.5 S is $23,140. This is a slight increase over the mid-year upgraded 2017.5 Nissan Altima, which came in at $22,900. So what new upgrades justify this increase? We think you’ll appreciate them.

The 2018 Nissan Altima now has standard Automatic Emergency Braking and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. These features combine to help you, as a driver, avoid front-end collisions. Sensors at the front of the Altima detect distance between you and an object in front. If a collision seems likely, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning gives visual and audible signals to alert you to slow down or brake. If you fail to do so, Automatic Emergency Braking will stop your vehicle. Depending on your speed, this can either mean avoiding a collision, or reducing the damage when stopping entirely is not possible.
In addition to these new standard features, the Altima lineup has been simplified to five trim levels, with the top trim 3.5 SL gaining Intelligent Cruise Control, NissanConnect with Navigation, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
