Nissan Murano Hybrid Release Date

Do you remember the fuel economy rating your first vehicle earned? Not to date you, but we’re sure it wasn’t anything too pretty and hybrid or electric vehicles we’re probably still just concepts at the time. Over the years, engine technology has improved while automakers push to squeeze out each and every last mile per gallon possible.
Overhauled for 2015, the midsize crossover Murano boasts an impressively sleek, yet futuristic complexion that allows it to be more aerodynamic while its 260-horsepower 3.5L V6 manages 21 city/ 28 hwy mpg. Even better yet, there has been talk of a rumored 2016 Nissan Murano Hybrid.
Possible Release Date of Nissan Murano Hybrid
A set timeline for when the Nissan Murano Hybrid will hit production and become available at dealerships has not been set; although, it was at the Shanghai Auto Show in April of 2015 that the hybrid version was unveiled and some industry insiders leaked the possibility of its arrival in summer.
Nissan Murano Hybrid Engine Specs
While there isn’t much information available as of yet, there are a few things that Nissan did release and confirm.
- The hybrid Murano would be powered by a supercharged 4-cylinder gas engine paired with a compact lithium-ion battery pack
- Horsepower would be 250. (230 HP would be gas power while 20 would be generated by the electric motor.)
- Nissan’s goal was to provide the same amount of power its V6 produces while providing 4-cylinder efficiency.
