There are a number of parades to choose from, or if you’re really feeling ambitious, you can hit them all and relax at night with a frosty mug of green beer.

20th Annual Elmhurst St. Patrick’s Day Parade
When: Saturday March, 5th @ 12pm
Where: Intersection of Wilson Street and Spring Roads, Elmhurst
Twenty years in the running, you can guarantee this is going to be a good parade and not some rinky-dink event with a handful of scary clowns wildly throwing candy. This is the second largest parade in the Chicago area; for years now it has been safe, great fun for everyone involved and those who are spectators. There is a variety of entertainment throughout the parade, including marching bands, animated characters, local businesses, clubs, and organizations, as well as team mascots and more!

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and St. Paddy’s Day 5K
When: Saturday March, 12
Where: City of Naperville
Once again this year, the city of Naperville will be hosting its St. Patrick’s Day parade for everyone to celebrate their Irish heritages; after all, on St. Patty’s Day, we all have a little Irish in us. Also, prior to the parades, the St. Paddy’s Day 5K will be taking place, hosted by the West Suburban Irish. Any non-perishable food items to donate are greatly appreciated in order to help benefit the Loaves and Fishes Community Food Pantry.

Village Tavern and Grill
When: Begins Saturday, March 14th (4-day long bash)
Where: 291 South Schmale Road, Carol Stream, IL
A party so lively, that it can’t be confined to just one day. This is the “biggest bash in the burbs” and welcomes everyone of all ages. (Although, only those who are 21 and up can enjoy all of the green beer.) Authentic Irish food will be served while live Irish dancers and bagpipers will perform. Also, be sure to take home a free t-shirt and party favors after you’ve had your fill of fun and food!
