Naperville Noon Lions 5K Turkey Trot
Thursday, November 24th @ 8am
Location: 440 Aurora Avenue, Naperville
This year, the 19th annual 5K Turkey Trot will be taking place and hopefully you’ll be there ready to run, walk, or cheer on friends and family. This is a chip timed race where awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers in addition to the top three within each age group. Everyone is welcome, except for four-legged friends in the actual rage, and all proceeds will go to help vision, hearing, and diabetes health related issues within the community.
Gingerbread Festival

Location: 933 Curtiss St. Ste. A, Downers Grove
Taking place Saturday and Sunday too is the Gingerbread Man Parade that will lead to the Tree Lighting Ceremony. A number of events will be taking place here which include a Gingerbread Man Hunt and if you feel like you have a knack for gingerbread architecture, a Gingerbread House Contest. While you’re here, enjoy breakfast with Santa and even go on a complimentary carriage ride!
Lighted Holiday Parade

Location: Downtown Wheaton, Front Street
There’s always something mesmerizing about the first lighting of a Christmas tree, whether it be in your own home or a community tree. This year’s tree-lighting ceremony and lighted parade will segue into the Dickens of Christmas Celebration downtown.
Festival of Lights and Trees
Friday, November 27th-Saturday, December 31st @ 9 am-9pm
Location: Cosley, Zoo, 1356 N. Gary. Ave., Wheaton
More lights than you’d ever possibly want to string along your gutters, the Cosley Zoo puts on an incredible winter wonderland display that consists of 20,000 twinkling lights. Enjoy the magnificent displays while sipping on hot chocolate and shopping around for Christmas gifts.
Dickens of a Christmas Carriage Rides
Saturdays, November 28th-December 19th
Location: Martin Memorial Plaza, Wheaton
This year, the Downtown Wheaton Association is hosting a Dickens of a Christmas Celebration that will offer horse-drawn carriage rides throughout downtown. Whether you’re looking for a holiday date night or something fun to do with the kids, carriage rides are available every Saturday through the season.
