Nissan’s Godzilla Will Strike This Summer 2017

Do you hear the choir of angels singing as Nissan’s halo car descends to Earth for 2017? One problem, this halo is either a little crooked or it’s being held up by horns because this is one devilish sports car. So tell us, what’s changed on the redesigned 2017 Nissan GT-R?
2017 Nissan GT-R Exterior Upgrades
With a hot engine, it’s all about keeping it about keep it cool. Nobody like a hothead, and a supercar as powerful as the GT-R can overheat quickly without the proper design and mechanics. That’s why one of the biggest cosmetic changes, the addition of the signature V-motion grille (which has been elongated compared to other Nissan family members) helps the GT-R to take in more air and keep its components cool. Other tweaks included in the redesign involve a refreshed front spoiler lip and front bumpers. Not only does this altered look make the GT-R appear more like a pure-bred race car, but the design also helps with aerodynamics and boosting levels of downward force.

Aerodynamics are key in a car built for speed; that’s no secret, and that’s also why the 2017 GT-R’s body has such a wind-cutting shape with deeply defined curves and creases. Since its introduction ten years ago, the Nissan GT-R has always been an aggressive vehicle, but with its altered rear exterior and bodywork, it now looks even lower to the ground and meaner.
2017 Nissan GT-R Performance Specs
What exactly lies beneath the re-sculpted hood that needs to maintain its cool? The 2017 GT-R carries over its 3.8L twin-turbo V6. More powerful than years past, the turbos now have extra oomph, increasing the maximum horsepower by 20 to total 565 HP while the torque also increased by four, giving it a grand total of an immense 467 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the 2017 Nissan GT-R’s powerhouse is a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox which now will shift smoother and has been refined to reduce unwanted noise.

Also, we all know what it’s like to get chills and grin wildly like little kids when a mighty powerful car revs up its engine. Now that the Nissan GT-R’s turbos each have more power and individual ignition-timing control, as well as improved Active Sound Enhancement, the GT-R is going to sound more fearsome.
With a re-tuned suspension, drivers can now enjoy a more comfortable drive, especially when cruising along in the GT-R on longer road trips. It’s a car that is built for the road and the track, but Nissan has capitalized on the importance of delivering a smooth and comfortable ride. The acoustic glass windshield and all-new sound insulation on top of Active Noise Cancellation, all help to keep out the unwanted road and engine sounds, and keep in the peace and quiet or the bumping tunes you have playing. Finally, drivers can also count on the 2017 GT-R to be as sharp as ever with its new and improved body work, delivering the response and rigidity its reputation rides upon.
