Standing out against the crowd, Nissan’s compact sedan, the Sentra, is full of surprises. It doesn’t take shortcuts, not in design and quality of materials nor does it shortchange customers when it comes to standard features and available options.
In total there are five versions available for the 2016 Nissan Sentra, but in order to find out which one is best for you and your budget, Glendale Nissan plans to compare what comes standard on each 2016 Nissan Sentra trim. Across all five versions, beneath the hood is a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that manages 130 horsepower and an estimated fuel economy rating of 30 city/ 40 hwy mpg.
Sentra S
The base level Sentra S rides on top of 16-inch steel wheels and comes with all of the valued necessary accessories you would hope for like full power accessories, air-conditioning, cruise control and automatic headlights. It also comes equipped with the following:
- Remote keyless entry
- Height-adjustable driver seat and sliding front armrest
- 60/40 split folding back seats
- Four-speaker sound system w/ CD player, USB port, and aux. jack
- Bluetooth phone connectivity
Sentra FE+ S
For the most part, the Sentra FE+S comes with everything you see listed above for the standard S, but for a minimal price difference, it does add a few extra changes. Instead of a six-speed manual, it swaps in Nissan’s Continuously Variable Transmission. The main focus is improved fuel efficiency by adding the following:
- Low-rolling resistance tires
- Rear spoiler for a sportier look
- Underbody aerodynamic deflectors
Sentra SV
Third in line is the Sentra SV which spruces up the interior with a variety of upgrades, like enhanced cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and throws in a mix of impressive safety and entertainment technology:
- Keyless entry and ignition
- Rearview camera
- Bluetooth audio connectivity w/ six speaker sound system
- 5-inch driver information screen
- 5-inch central touchscreen
- Siri Eyes Free voice controls
- Satellite radio
Sentra SR
Brand new for 2016, the Sentra SR is as sporty as a compact sedan can get. Rather than 16-inch wheels it jumps up to 17-inch alloy ones while upgrading the interior to leather upholstery. Additional changes made inside and out include:
- Rear disc brakes
- Six-way power driver seat w/ power lumbar
- Dual-zone automatic climate control
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- 5.8-inch touchscreen w/ navigation
- Blind-spot monitor w/ rear cross-traffic alert
Sentra SL
Moving up a notch to the Sentra SL, here we shed the sporty persona of the SR but still keep nearly all of the comfort and technology additions such as:
- 17-inch alloy wheels
- Rear disc brakes
- Six-way power driver seat and power lumbar
- Leather upholstery
- 5.8-inch touchscreen w/ navigation
- Dual-zone climate control
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- Blind-spot monitor w/ rear cross-traffic alert
