Find Out About the SR Trim Level of Nissan Models
By Product Expert | Posted in FAQs, Nissan Sentra on Thursday, December 3rd, 2015 at 4:47 pmWhat Does Nissan SR Mean?
With so many great Nissan vehicles, it can be tough to keep track of all the models and trims available. SR probably especially stands out among the common S, SV, and SL trims. So, what does Nissan SR mean, exactly? Well like the others, SR is a trim level, however, this one is only available for select models. The SR trim is usually a bit sportier and offers more premium features than most lower trim levels. Currently the 2016 Versa Note, 2016 Altima, and 2016 Maxima have an SR trim available. The upcoming 2016 Sentra will also have an SR trim. The best way to explain exactly what the SR trim actually offers is to go over this option for each model. So read on to find out more about the Nissan SR trims!

2016 Nissan Sentra SR
Now, we don’t know everything about the 2016 Nissan Sentra SR quite yet, but we know it will fall in the lineup between the SV and top SL trim levels. The Sentra SR will have Sport 17-inch alloy wheels, LED projector headlights, lower body sill extensions with chrome exhaust finisher, and much more. This is poised to be a sportier trim than the others. We’re looking forward to learning more about the SR trim for the new Sentra as it gets closer to the vehicle’s release.
2016 Nissan Versa Note SR
The 2016 Nissan Versa Note also has a SR trim, bringing more value to the lineup. The Versa Note SR falls between the SV and top SL trim levels. Features of the SR trim include 16-inch machined aluminum alloy wheels, sport fascias, sport side sills, a sport spoiler, a z-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sport grille, smoked headlights, outside mirrors with LED turn signals, premium sport synthetic seat trim, and much more. The Versa Note SR, like the Sentra SR, is a sportier option in the model lineup.
2016 Nissan Altima SR
The 2016 Nissan Altima also got an SR trim for the new model year. The trim is available for both the 2.5L 4-cylinder and 3.5L V6 models. The Altima 2.5 SR falls between the 2.5 S and SV trim levels while the Altima 3.5 SR falls below the top 3.5 SL model. Features for the Altima SR trims include 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, paddle shifters with manual mode, optional LED headlights with signature LED Daytime Running Lights, smoked headlight housing, a sport spoiler, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a sport-tuned suspension, and more. If you are looking for an Altima with the right amount of sportiness, this is the one.
2016 Nissan Maxima SR and SR Midnight
Out of all the models with an SR trim available, the 2016 Nissan Maxima is probably the king. The Maxima SR and Maxima SR Midnight are two trim options that add more than just a little something extra to Nissan’s sport sedan. The SR trim falls just below the top Platinum trim in the Maxima lineup. Maxima SR features include a sport-tuned suspension, 19-inch “diamond cut” machine-finished aluminum alloy wheels, signature LED headlights and taillights, premium ascot leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted Alcantara inserts, and much more. The SR Midnight option has the same features but is styled with Super Black exterior paint, a charcoal interior color pallet, and black styled wheels.
