Safety is one of the most important aspects many people consider when looking for a new vehicle. Luckily, Nissan models have some of the most advanced safety features available to new car buyers. Many Nissan vehicles are equipped with Nissan Safety Shield technologies, which protect passengers on a variety of levels. So, what is Nissan Safety Shield? Essentially, this covers the many new safety features available for new Nissan vehicles and puts them into 3 groups based on how they protect passengers. These groups are Monitor, Respond, and Protect. We’ll go over these three groups and the kind of features they offer to help you see how Nissan is on the cutting edge of safety technology.

Nissan Safety Shield: Monitor
The Monitor group of the Nissan Safety Shield will offer protection on a preventative level. Any safety features that monitor the equipped vehicle’s surroundings will be included in this group. This includes driver assistance systems like Predictive Forward Collision Warning and Blind Spot Warning. Other Monitor features include the Around View Monitor, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Smart Auto Headlights, and more.
Nissan Safety Shield: Respond
The Respond group of the Nissan Safety Shield offers protection right as an event begins. Whether you need to hit the brakes in an emergency situation or you need to get out of the way of an obstacle up ahead, these features will take care of responding in an unexpected situation. The Respond group includes the Anti-Lock Braking System, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Brake Assist, the Traction Control System, and more.
Nissan Safety Shield: Protect
The Protect group of the Nissan Safety Shield offers protection during an event, like a collision. Unexpected events happen all the time, so it’s important to not only have preventative safety features, but active ones too. The Protect group includes the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System, supplemental air bags, the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system, and more.
Nissan Safety Shield technologies are available for new models like the 2016 Sentra, 2016 Altima, 2016 Rogue, 2015 Murano, 2016 Pathfinder, and others.
