How does Nissan keyless entry work? If you haven’t driven a newer Nissan model in quite some time, or maybe ever, this is going to be a pretty nifty feature to learn about!
How does the Nissan Intelligent Key work with keyless entry?
With the Nissan key fob you can still press lock and unlock to get in and out of your vehicle, but with the Intelligent Key in your pocket or purse it’s able to sense you approaching the vehicle.
Unlocking /locking your Nissan with keyless entry:
- When the doors to your vehicle are closed and locked, press the button on the door handle once and you will be able to unlock the driver’s side door.
- Close the door and press the button once and the door will once again lock.
Unlocking/locking your entire Nissan with keyless entry:
- If you press the button twice, you’ll be able to unlock all all of the doors to the vehicle.
- Close the door and press the button twice and all doors to the vehicle will lock.
Access to the power rear liftgate with keyless entry:
- Even with all of the doors locked, so long as you have the key on you and you press the button located behind the handle of the power liftgate, the hatch will lift up. Put away your cargo, press the button to close the hatch, and everything is once again secured.
Nissan Intelligent Key and push button start
As we mentioned above, with the Nissan Intelligent Key, you’ll never have the need to take your keys out to lock, unlock, or start your vehicle; in fact, you physically won’t even be able to turn a key in the ignition of your vehicle because it will have push button start.

Just as the name implies, all that you have to do to start the vehicle when it is in park is put your foot on the brake, and push the start button. To turn off the engine, once the vehicle is in park, just press the button again and the vehicle will shut down.
