Before finding the right model in your car buying search, it’s important to first pick which kind of segment and price you’re looking for. While experienced car shoppers often know exactly what they’re looking for, newer drivers or even just inexperienced drivers have a tougher time finding something right for them. So, what is the best kind of car for new and younger drivers?
Nissan recently conducted a survey of car owners in the United States of America, taking a look at which kind of models Millennials and Generation Z drivers were purchasing.
How Many People are Interested in a Sedan in 2019?
Throughout the study, Nissan discovered that the popularity of sedans is still as strong as ever. In fact, Nissan discovered that drivers who don’t currently own a sedan, 78 percent of all drivers said that would consider buying one in the future. However, 86 percent of drivers aged 18-34, the Generation Z and younger Millennials who don’t own a sedan would consider buying one. Even 81 percent of older Millennials and Generation X people aged 35-50 also would consider buying a sedan in the near future.

“What we’re hearing from younger buyers is that they appreciate the features, versatility, fuel economy and value in our sedans. Sedan design has also come a long way, as these traditional four-door cars shed their generic look, add more technology and take on a more aggressive, stylish profile. As sedans become more exciting to look at and to drive, younger buyers are putting sedans at the top of their consideration list.”
